Lasik

After weeks of considerations and emails to various clinics, I have decided to do the lasik op at Shinagawa.

I must admit that it is because of the price that attracted me but eventually it is also the good comments from the various members of M4M that finalized my decision. I am going there this sat for the op and I am going for the normal op meaning to correct my myopia and my astigmatism. Of course Presbyopia (Lao Hua) cannot be treated and avoided, guess I have to wear reading glass as and when required.

In total, I will have to foot out about $2.4K after $200 deduction for using HSBC credit card. Anyway, I will have clear vision after the op and I am very excited.

Update :-
I have done my lasik today at 2.10pm.

I must comment that they are very professional and they will tell you the procedure and explain to you everything that they are going to do or will be doing.

When I arrived, I have to pay upfront $2,388.78 via HSBC if I want a $200 discount. After that I have to read thru the consent letter and you will be surprised that it actually stated plenty of side effects of lasik which you will never see on their ad or any other media. At that moment I was kind of angry and was thinking why after I have paid then they present this consent letter with so many disadvantages to me???

Anyway, since so many has done before me, I guess it is still fine to go ahead.

After that, E Mei met up with me and brought me in to prepare me for the op. She is very very friendly.

She explained everything clearly to me and also the things that she will be doing or going to do. Thumbs up for her!

E Mei dressed me up, cap my hair and tape both sides to prevent it from falling. Then she tape my name on my forehead for easy identification!

She instilled many drops of eye drops into my eyes. After that she will clean up my eyes then eye drops again.

Dr Chua came and checked on my eyes again. He asked me some questions, luckily he mentioned that he is doing mono for me. Immediately I told him I wanted the normal not mono. He asked whether did I inform anyone, I did. I informed the receptionist and also in my email to Sheeren. Strange thing is no one change my record or inform him and I can see that he is not very happy. He asked me who did I speak to, I just told him that I cannot remember.

Anyway, it is change in time and I am ok.

I were brought into a room where my cornea are cut. The pressure applied on my eyes are terrible, it's as if the eyeballs are going to pop out. Hehehe. Seriously it is great pressure.

Then I were brought into another room where the lasik are performed. Dr Chua taped my upper and lower eyelids and cover the whole face with only 1 eye revealing. I was told to look at a red light and not to move my eyes even if the lights flicker or run! So difficult! If I do that, it will not be accurate and Dr Chua might stop the op! So I ren lor. When 1 eye is done, Dr Chua will remove the whole thing that is on my face and do it again with another eye revealed. But the whole thing that he removed is something like tap to my face and I can feel the slight pain as he removed!

After a few mins, I am DONE!

I am brought to a small area to rest and before I could drink my tea, I were told that I can go home after the explanation on the usage of the med.... So damn fast lor.

The after op feeling I have are very blur vision plus my eyes cannot be kept opened and I were so frustrated.

Up to now, I have no regret going for it.
