Occasionally when I am late, I would catch a cab to work.
Some drivers will have plenty to talk about and some just kept quiet throughout the journey. Some are even worst! Don't even bother to nod or answer and you will just keep wondering whether did they hear you.... Bad attitude.
One cab uncle told me his friend's story.
His friend's wife left the family when their son is very young. All the while, he had been taken care of by either the father or his grandmother.
When the son grew older, he request to go overseas to further his studies. The father agreed and worked very hard to see him through. Whenever his son called and asked for money, the father will try his best to raise even if he had to borrow.
Each time, when the father and his friends sat down to take a break, the coffee will be paid by the father's friends as they knew his condition.
Ever since, the son never comes back to Singapore. Instead he started a family and stayed there working as a doctor. Even during Chinese New Year, he will not be seen.
One day, his father was down and had to be admitted to a hospital. He was there for 3 months and couldn't work at all. During this period, he has no income and he has to foot the hospital bills. he called his son asking for help but "no money" was the only word given by his son.
During his hospitalization period, his son didn't even come back to visit his dad or take care of him!
In the end, it was his father's friends who help to raise some money to let him pass through the crisis...
What kind of son is he? So heartless....!!!! He is a doctor and he claimed that he has no money!! He dad worked very hard to see him through and yet this is the repayment given to the father.....
Very pathetic.....
